At Gillette, 600 Republican troops prevail after a 10-hour fight with no artillery support; they repulse 4,000 Austrians, Croats and Piemontese, supported by 6 guns; many enemies killed, 88 prisoners.

Year III.

Army of Western Pyrenees.
Delabare, commanding officer.
7,000 Spanish are defeated near Burguet and Almandos; most of them are killed, the others are prisoners.

Army of the Rhine.
Michaud, general-in-chief.
The enemy near Kircheim and Worms routs; both towns captured.

Comments

The entry for 26 Vendémiaire III and 27 Vendémiaire III both state that the French captured the town of Worms. Did they lose the town in the meantime? Is there a subtle difference between the two French expressions, indicating a step-by-step capture and victory?
