The French army, at the gates of Mayence, forces the Austrians to evacuate this town; the French take the town.

Year III.

Army of Moselle.
Moreau, general-in-chief.
The French enter Bingen, after having repulsed the Prussians from the important positions they were holding before the town.

Year V.

Army of Italy.
Casalta, brigadier-general, commanding officer.
The French land in Corsica, advance on Bastia, and defy the 3,000 English occupying the fort; the English rush to their ships, losing between 800 and 900 men. Capture of Saint-Florent and Bonifacio; their garrison is taken prisoner.
