The French take control of the town and harbour of Ostende, evacuated by the Austrians; they intercept a big convoy of grain and flour for the enemy.

Beurnonville, general-in-chief.
Capture of Saint-Remi, and of an important quantity of ammunition. The French burn the flying bridge the enemy had cast over the Moselle.

Dumourier, general-in-chief.
Capitulation of the town of Malines. The French find there various supplies.

Year II.

Army of the Rhine.
Pichegru, general-in-chief.
Surprises and captures three well defended enemy posts near Strasbourg.
The Vendean outlaws besiege in vain the town of Granville; the resistance and the courage of the inhabitants force them to lift the siege.

Year IV.

Schérer, general-in-chief.
Augereau, Charlet, division generals.
Fight of the di Pietri field: many enemy casualties; capture of 500 prisoners, 3 guns and 400 shotguns.
